Student Visa (School Students)

This service is for families who plan to send their minor child to Canada to study in elementary or high school or to extend their educational status in Canada. Our services can include checking the immigration status of parents and students, choosing the appropriate pathway, reviewing the letter of acceptance, preparing the study permit and temporary resident visa applications, preparing the study plan and responding to possible requests from the IRCC.

A school admission letter alone does not guarantee the issuance of a study permit or visa. The IRCCr examines all the student’s family, financial, residence and study plan conditions.

The applicant must, as the case may be:

• have valid admission from an appropriate school or school board in Canada;
• Demonstrate sufficient funds for tuition, living, transportation and return travel;
• Provide clear and acceptable arrangements for the child’s care, residence and guardianship in Canada;
• convince the officer that temporary resident requirements will be respected;
• Be admissible on medical, criminal, and security grounds.

Preschool, elementary, and middle school students are usually exempt from PAL/TAL. The need for a Study Permit for a child depends on the place of attendance, the status of the parents, and their particular circumstances, and must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For minors traveling without a parent or legal guardian, the appointment of a custodian in Canada and related notarized custodianship declarations may be required.

Professional fees are determined after reviewing the applicant’s circumstances, immigration history, number of family members, the complexity of the matter, and the scope of services required. After the assessment, the services, professional fees, and payment terms will be confirmed in a written retainer agreement.

Government processing fees, biometrics, medical examinations, translations, credential assessments, courier charges, and other third-party costs are separate from professional fees unless the written agreement expressly states otherwise.

• Valid passport and student identity documents;
• Birth certificate and proof of relationship with parents or guardian;
• school or school board acceptance letter;
• Tuition receipt or proof of payment, if any;
• report cards, transcripts, and proof of current enrolment;
• Study plan explaining the choice of Canada, school, and level of study;
• Financial documents of parents or sponsor, along with the source of funds;
• Employment, financial, and immigration-status documents of parents and evidence of family affiliation;
• Proof of accommodation and child-care arrangements in Canada;
• Notarized custodianship declarations in Canada and the country of origin, if needed;
• The other parent’s travel consent or custody documents, as the case may be;
• photos, forms, travel records and explanatory letters;
• Medical examination and biometrics, if necessary.

The final list should be adjusted based on the country of application, student age, parental status and personalized IRCC guidelines.
