Refugees Permanent Residence

About This Service

A person recognized by the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) or IRCC as a Protected Person can apply for permanent residence for themselves and eligible family members. This stage is different from the asylum case and requires full disclosure of family members, identity, residence and security records.

Eligibility

The applicant must have a positive decision to be a Protected Person or Protected Temporary Resident and not be a citizen, national or permanent resident of another country in which he can live without fear of persecution. A person who is already a permanent resident of Canada is not eligible for this route. Family members, even if they are not accompanied, must be declared and checked according to the guidelines.

Professional Fees

Professional fees are determined after reviewing the applicant’s circumstances, immigration history, number of family members, the complexity of the matter, and the scope of services required. To receive an assessment and fee information, please book a professional consultation. After the assessment, the services, professional fees, and payment terms will be confirmed in a written retainer agreement.

Government processing fees, biometrics, medical examinations, translations, credential assessments, courier charges, and other third-party costs are separate from professional fees unless the written agreement expressly states otherwise.

Document Checklist

Please prepare clear, legible scans of the documents below and send them to our office. All government application forms will be completed and prepared by our team.

Completion of Online Questionnaire (All Family Members)

  • The online questionnaire that will be sent to you by our office must be completed electronically.
  • A separate questionnaire must be completed for you and each family member included in the permanent residence application.
  • Therefore, upon receiving this email, please send us the full name and email address of each family member so that we can send the appropriate questionnaire to them.

Passport (All Family Members)

  • A clear scan of all pages of the passport is required for the principal applicant and all family members included in the application.
  • For family members who were included in the refugee claim and whose passports were previously submitted to Immigration authorities, the certified copy received from Immigration at the time the passport was surrendered will be sufficient.

Birth Certificate / Shenasnameh (All Family Members)

  • A scan of the birth certificate for the principal applicant and all family members, together with an official translation if the document is in Farsi or any language other than English or French.

Marriage Certificate

  • If applicable, a scan of the marriage certificate together with an official translation if the document is in Farsi or any language other than English or French.

Divorce, Death of Spouse, or Custody Documents

  • If applicable and relevant to the family circumstances, please provide the related documents together with official translations.

Two Recent Photographs (All Family Members)

  • Two recent photographs are required for the principal applicant and all family members included in the application.
  • The photographs must meet the specifications for Canadian permanent residence applications and should preferably have been taken within the last six months.

Police Clearance Certificate

  • Required for family members who are over 18 years of age and currently residing outside Canada.

Work Permit or Other Current Canadian Status Document (All Family Members Currently in Canada)

  • Please provide a copy of the current Work Permit or any other valid immigration status document for each family member currently residing in Canada.

Canadian Identification Document (All Family Members Currently in Canada)

  • Such as a Driver’s Licence, BCID, or another similar Canadian identification document, if available.

Military Service or Exemption Documents

  • If applicable, please provide the military service completion card, exemption card, or any related military documentation together with an official translation.

Government Permanent Residence Application Fees

  • Principal Applicant: CAD $660
  • Spouse: CAD $660
  • Each Dependent Child: CAD $180
